| The Sunday Mirror has reposrted that Tony Blair faces a revolt by 60 Labour MPs over plans to relax the rules on removing asbestos from homes.
Until now only licensed contractors could remove coatings containing asbestos such as Artex. But a new plan from Brussels means anyone can do it - and MPs fear it could put lives at risk.
The backlash comes after an inquest into the death of Barry Welch, 32, who is thought to be the youngest Briton to die from asbestos-related lung disease.
He was exposed to asbestos dust on his stepfather's workclothes when he was a toddler.
The Asbestos Removal Contractors Association, said: "The main concern seems to be cost-cutting, not protecting workers and families."
